Resilience in Law, Business, and Life: My Journey Across Borders and Industries
Resilience is often framed as the ability to bounce back from challenges. But for those of us navigating the intersection of law, technology, and business, resilience is more than just recovery—it’s about adapting, evolving, and leading in an ever-changing landscape.
A Career at the Crossroads of Innovation
My journey has been anything but conventional. From studying law at Delhi University to earning my LL.M. from Harvard Law School, I’ve built a career that sits at the nexus of law, technology, and business strategy. I’ve had the privilege of working with startups, multinational corporations, and Fortune 100 companies, guiding them through complex intellectual property strategies, M&A transactions, and regulatory challenges.
But success in this space isn’t just about knowledge—it’s about adaptability and perseverance.
Facing Industry Shifts Head-On
The technology and legal landscapes don’t just shift—they transform. Over the years, I’ve seen entire industries disrupted by AI, blockchain, and global regulatory changes. I’ve had to pivot my own approach to legal counsel, moving beyond traditional legal frameworks to become a strategic partner for businesses.
One of my most defining moments was navigating clients through IP-driven acquisitions by major players like Google, Synopsys, Cadence, and Cisco. These weren’t just legal transactions; they were moments where intellectual property became the driving force behind multi-million-dollar deals. It required deep expertise, quick decision-making, and the ability to predict industry shifts before they happened.
The Entrepreneurial Mindset in Law and Business
Resilience isn’t just about navigating setbacks—it’s about creating opportunities where others see obstacles. This is why I expanded beyond law into board advisory, angel investing, and startup mentorship. As a Fractional IP Counsel and Board Member, I don’t just advise—I help build, scale, and protect businesses from the inside out.
I’ve had to embrace the entrepreneurial mindset, constantly questioning:
- How do we future-proof a company’s intellectual property strategy?
- How do we ensure compliance while maintaining innovation?
- How do we negotiate deals that protect long-term business goals?
Resilience as a Competitive Advantage
For international tech leaders, resilience isn’t a soft skill—it’s a competitive advantage. It’s about being proactive, not reactive. It’s about seeing challenges as opportunities to rethink strategies, adapt to market shifts, and lead with confidence.
My journey—from law school to leading an IP law firm, advising on global tech acquisitions, and now serving as a Fractional IP Counsel and Board Member—has reinforced one thing:
Resilience is about staying ahead of the curve, no matter how fast the world moves.
As we navigate the next era of AI, deep tech, and global innovation, the ability to adapt, protect, and strategically position businesses will be more critical than ever.
For those looking to build a resilient legal and business strategy, let’s connect. The future belongs to those who anticipate change—and are ready to lead through it.
